Trapped in Unemployment

1 comment:

  1. I had an issue with being able to post under the video, so I'll post it here.

This clip is from a recent "60 Minutes" episode reported by Scott Pelley. He states The chances of finding a job are grim for the four million long-term unemployed in the U.S., but a man by the name, Joe Carbone, is looking to change that in his Connecticut town.

It covers the people still stuck in unemployment after years of searching. These are not people sitting on unemployment waiting for a check, but actually the ones working hard to land a job. Unfortunately, what they have discovered is a new discriminating factor in the job market. Most employers are now only excepting application of those individuals that are currently employed. So the people that are unemployed are discriminated against. So, how can people get jobs when employers don't hire those out of work? Doesn't make sense.
